How far from Home?

Tuesday was a big shopping day - we visited a department store, a Walmart-like store, some underground malls, and some local markets - Dongdaemun, and Insadong (a repeat visit).  There was also plenty of eating and people watching!  We found some great children's books for Zander on Korea/Seoul (in English!) in a bookstore called Seoul Selection - here is Jimmy in front of the store trying to calculate the distance back to Minneapolis:
We were discussing at lunch the fact that we have never had food as spicy as Korean!  Everything has been delicious - but we have required some extra refills in our water glasses, and an occasional kleenex due to the spice!  Jim's lunch today was a sizzling octopus dish served with the side dishes of vegetables and kimchee:
It was pretty tasty, but did require a quick follow up stop for a yogurt smoothie to cool things down a bit.  We were thinking that the octopus was somewhat adventuresome until we read in the guidebook under the eating section: "For Daredevils - order 'Sannakji' - raw, squirming, baby octopus"...  maybe next time!

  1. I don't think I've ever had authentic Korean food. Along with Zander, bring back a lot of recipes!

I wonder why Minneapolis and Kansas City aren't included on that sign? Hmmmmm
